Barbara Ann Corcoran
Barbara Ann Corcoran is an American businesswoman from America. The Corcoran Group was a New York City real estate brokerage that she started. NRT purchased it for $66million in 2001. Corcoran eventually left the business. Corcoran has been a part of 12 of ABC's Shark Tank seasons. Corcoran has signed 53 deals in February, 2020. Her biggest deal was her investment of $350,000 into Coverplay with a 40% stake. Corcoran was the second child of 10 kids born to an Irish-Catholic couple working in the middle class in Edgewater, New Jersey. [8] Her mother, Florence, was a household worker. Edwin W. Corcoran Jr. Her father was always changing jobs during Corcoran’s life. Her family was sometimes dependent on food delivered by a friendly local grocer for free food. Corcoran is still able to remember her father as someone who would drink often and was rude to her mother. Corcoran struggled in school, and she later found out she was dyslexic. Corcoran was a student at the local Catholic elementary school and started high school in St. Cecilia High School in Englewood. After failing several courses in her first year of high school, Corcoran transferred to Leonia High School and received a grade of D.
