She is famous for her performance in the first West End production of Spamalot, the 2010 Regent's Park revival of Into the Woods, and The Wizard of Oz (as the Wicked Witch of the West). She has won three Olivier Award nominations for her performance. In 2015, she was a part of the Game of Thrones cast as Septa Unella in the sixth season of the fifth season. In addition to her primary part as Septa Unella She was also an ensemble actor of the 2012 film adaptation of Les Miserables as well as the 2018 British psychological thriller Winter Ridge. Waddingham is a Golden Globe Award nominee. She is playing the role of Rebecca Welton on the Apple TV+ comedy series Ted Lasso since the year 2020.
